GTA 6 release date: everything we actually know

The short answer

Grand Theft Auto VI is officially scheduled for November 19, 2026. That date comes straight from Rockstar's parent company: Take-Two's CEO has reaffirmed it publicly more than once, most recently on the company's earnings call, and Rockstar's own communications have repeated it.

We treat that as Official. It is the date Rockstar and Take-Two have committed to in public statements - not a leak, not a rumor.

The delay rumor history

Every big game collects delay rumors, and GTA VI has collected plenty. Since the release window was first communicated, online chatter has repeatedly claimed slips to 2027 or later. Each time, the rumor died when Take-Two reaffirmed the November 19 date on the record.

That does not mean a delay is impossible - software dates move all the time. It means that as of today, the official, repeated, on-the-record answer is November 19, 2026.
