The confirmed leads

GTA VI has two playable protagonists, and both are Official: Lucia and Jason. Lucia appeared in Trailer 1 and has been the face of the campaign's marketing; Jason was confirmed alongside her when Rockstar officially explained the dual-protagonist switching system.

That switching mechanic - moving freely between the two leads - is the campaign's headline structural feature, confirmed in Rockstar's own communications.

The people behind them

Beyond the leads, official footage is full of faces with no names: the beach patrol officer in Trailer 1, the nightclub crowds in the Extended Look, the swamp figure in the countryside shots. We catalogue these as Community observations - real presences, unknown identities.

The story framing

Press coverage has consistently described the pair as a Bonnie-and-Clyde style duo, and the framing is reasonable given the footage - two people, on the run, building a life of crime together. We file the framing as Reported. The specific story beats, the betrayals, the endings - all of that is Speculation until Rockstar says otherwise.

The veteran question

The game is set in modern-day Vice City, decades after the 1980s original. Fans have spent years asking whether any old faces will return, aged into the present. It is a great question and a pure theory - nothing official points one way or the other.
